The AKP, Turkey and the European Union

Please read this article. If the AKP is ruled an illegal party, what effect would that ruling have on Turkey's negotiations to join the European Union?

If the AKP is ruled an illegal party, it would cause some negative effects on Turkey's negotiations to join the European Union. The article said,"The AKP is founded by a group that drew lessons from closure of earlier Islamic parties and uses democracy to reach its goal, which is installing Islamic law in Turkey." If it is true, I think they will be a hindrance to the country's project of modernization and Westernization, and they may even plunge Turkey into a deep crisis, theatening the country's emerging political and economic stability and futurer jeopardizing its already troubled bid for European Union memership. So Turkey may not join the European Union successfully because of the AKP.

Turkey doesn't appear to have a lot of political or economic stability, whether or not they are ruled by an illegal party. The EU requires that a country must be a democracy in order to join. If Turkey is controlled by an illegal party, they would be in violation of this rule. However, closing down the AKP could also be viewed as non democratic and not in compliance with EU regulations. I think what happing in Turkey is depended on the court, the court decide what should be stay or what should leave in democracy way, far away from religious or the influence of someone,
You have to separated the religion from politics, and make free elections in the country. The people will decide which party they like and agree with. With respect the constitution.

Joining Turkey to the Europe Union is the rights think for the country; this would help to growing the economy of Turkey, and build their country also help the people because Turkey is a poor country.
